Connecticut Children's Theatre
Since 2005 CCT has called the 776-seat Edgerton Center home. CCT is the professional, in-residence theatre company, which produces multiple shows each year for the schools and children of Connecticut. Each production brings in thousands of children to the beautiful Edgerton Center on the campus of Sacred Heart University. CCT also takes shows developed while in-residence to local public and private schools, nursing homes, senior centers, libraries, community centers and museums throughout the northeast. In addtion, productions are presented in venues along the east coast cooridor, from Massachusetts to Florida several times a year.
The Theatre Arts Program at Sacred Heart University has over 150 theatre students ranging from actors to techinicans to creatives. CCT works hand-in-hand with students to integrate them into the creation and implementation of small and large productions. CCT holds practicums, internships and workshops within the academic structure of the theatre arts major. The talented students are also involved on stage in CCT shows at The Edgerton Center and join CCT tours when school is not in session. A proud collaborative relationship which allows the professionals at CCT to inspire and mentor the next generation of theatre artists.
